Important: Preggy is a wellness tool and does not provide medical advice. All data you enter in the app is for personal use and will not be shared with healthcare providers unless you choose to do so yourself.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 Personal Information
Account information: Email address, name, due date Profile data: Pregnancy week, preferences, notification settings
HealthKit data: Sleep analysis data (only with your explicit consent)
1.3 AI-Powered Features Data
NIA Chat Assistant: Your chat messages, conversation history, context data (pregnancy week, recent mood patterns) Product Scanner: Product photos you scan are processed by AI to analyze ingredients and safety
1.4 Community & Usage Data
Community interactions: Posts you create, topics you save, comments, reactions
(optional - only if you use Community features)
Inbox messages: In-app notifications and updates
App usage: Features you use, session times, navigation patterns
Technical data: Device type, iOS version, app version, language preference
Crash reports: Automatic error reports to diagnose and fix technical issues
HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
2.1 Core App Functionality
Manage your account and enable secure login
Track your pregnancy journey and milestones
Store and organize your mood logs, kick counter sessions, and memories
Generate personalized weekly insights and pattern analyses
Sync your data across devices (cloud-stored data only)
Send push notifications for reminders and updates (with your permission)
2.2 AI Processing
When you use AI-powered features in Preggy, your data may be processed by trusted third-party AI service providers:
NIA Chat Assistant: Your messages and relevant context data (such as your pregnancy week and recent mood patterns) are sent to AI providers to generate personalized, conversational responses.
Product Scanner: Product photos you scan are sent to AI providers to analyze visible ingredients, brand information, and provide pregnancy-safety assessments.
Important about AI:
Your data is not used to train AI models
AI providers retain data for a maximum of 30 days for security monitoring purposes only
We only work with AI providers that comply with GDPR and industry security standards
AI does not provide medical advice — only wellness support and general information
2.3 Service Improvement
Monitor app performance, stability, and fix bugs
Develop new features based on usage patterns
Improve user experience and app design
Analyze anonymized, aggregated data to understand how features are used
2.4 Communication
Send important updates about the app or service changes
Respond to your support requests and inquiries
Provide information about your Preggy+ subscription status
Send notifications about community activity (if enabled)
WHERE WE STORE YOUR DATA
3.1 Local Storage (On Your iPhone)
The following data is stored only locally on your device and is never uploaded to the cloud:
Chat conversations with NIA (conversation history)
Important: This data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app. Make sure to export important data before uninstalling.
3.2 Cloud Storage (Firebase - EU Servers)
The following data is securely stored in Google Firebase (EU region):
Account information (email, name, due date, pregnancy week)
Mood logs and emotional tracking data
Weekly analyses and insights
Product scan history and favorites
Kick counter sessions
Inbox messages and notifications
Community posts and interactions (optional - only if you use Community features)
Why cloud storage? Cloud storage enables you to access your data across multiple devices and ensures your important pregnancy data is backed up even if you lose your phone.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
To operate and improve Preggy, we work with a limited number of trusted third-party service providers. These providers help us deliver core functionality such as authentication, cloud storage, analytics, subscriptions, and AI-powered features.
We only share the minimum amount of data necessary for these services to function.
4.1 Types of Services We Use
Cloud infrastructure and data storage To securely store account information and app data in compliance with GDPR (Firebase, EU servers).
Authentication and account management To enable secure login, password reset, and user account management.
AI and language processing services To power features such as the NIA chat assistant and product scanner with AI-driven insights.
Subscription and payment processing To manage Preggy+ subscriptions and in-app purchases through RevenueCat and Apple's App Store.
Analytics and performance monitoring To understand how the app is used, identify bugs, and improve stability and features.
4.2 Data Protection
All third-party providers we use:
Are carefully selected for security, privacy, and GDPR compliance
Only process data on our behalf (data processors, not controllers)
Must comply with applicable data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA)
Use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards (encryption, access controls)
Are bound by data processing agreements that prohibit unauthorized use
We do NOT sell your personal data to any third party. Ever.
DATA SECURITY
We take your privacy seriously and implement multiple layers of security:
Encryption in transit: All data is encrypted during transmission using HTTPS/TLS
Encryption at rest: All cloud-stored data is encrypted on Firebase servers
Access control: Strict Firebase Security Rules ensure only you can access your own data
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account.
This permanently deletes:
All your mood logs, analyses, and insights
Your account information and profile data
Product scan history and favorites
Kick counter sessions
Inbox messages
Community posts (deleted or anonymized)
Your chat history (local - deleted upon app uninstall)
Photo memories (local - deleted upon app uninstall)
Data deletion timeline: All data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
6.3 Right to Rectification
You can modify, correct, or update your data at any time directly in the app.
6.4 Right to Object
You can object to certain data processing activities by contacting support@preggy.co. For example, you can opt out of analytics, promotional notifications, or AI processing (though this may limit app functionality).
6.5 Right to Data Portability
You can export your data in a machine-readable format (JSON) via Settings → Data Export. This allows you to transfer your data to another service if desired.
6.6 Right to Withdraw Consent
You can withdraw your consent for data processing at any time by:
Disabling specific features (e.g., HealthKit access)
Turning off notifications
Deleting your account
CHILDREN
Preggy is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it immediately.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or app features.
You will be notified of important changes via:
A notification in the app
An email to your registered email address
An update of the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy
Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated privacy policy.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFER
Your data is primarily stored in the EU (Firebase EU region).
However, some data may be processed outside the EU, such as:
AI processing: When you use NIA or the product scanner, data may be temporarily sent to AI service providers located in the United States
Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be processed by analytics providers
When data is transferred outside the EU, we ensure:
Adequate security measures are in place (encryption, access controls)
Compliance with GDPR requirements (Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions)
Service providers offer equivalent data protection guarantees
CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
